Strummin Along To The Tune of Life

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO WHAT A RIDE!"

Fun day!

Well SOn got his very first deer today, He was so excited. It isn't a buck and it was a real big one, but it was a deer!

Then to top off the night we went to a hockey game. What a blast! Go Nailers! Well, the mascot Spike was working his way down the row and shook our hands and when he go to Son he pulled him up out of his seat and started hugging him. We were laughing cause Son is really backwards and was laughing so hard. Then Spike said something to him. Son was like, "What you say? " Spike says.. "it's ME Joey!" Here, it was Son's friend from work, he moonlights as the mascot! lol He was so shocked! So they goofed off back and forth all night. It was alot more fun knowing who was in that suit and watching all the funny stuff he did all night.

Robins 5-er from Betty's journal!

I got this from Betty's journal.http://journals.aol.com/lv2trnscrb/Ofmini-pawsandmenopause/ Pretty fun questionnaire!
1. Do you already have your Christmas tree up? If so when did you put it up? If not when will you put it up? No I don't. I hope to get it up next week some time, CT has surgery the 2nd so it is going to be hard to get anything done.
2. Do you have any particular theme when it comes to decorating your tree? Maybe you do all Disney ornaments? Only blue lights? Tell us how you decorate your tree. Kudos if you have a picture and post it.
No picture, well handy anyhow, I do my tree with berrie garland & berry sprigs, and outdoorsy stuff. I put all the ornaments on it though that the kids have made through the years and our speciall ones. So it is kinda hodge podge.
3. What is your all time favorite ornament? Only one. Kudos again if you have a picture and post it.
Hmmm, I have a lot but, I think I favor the angel ornament that has my name on it. I've had it like a kazillion years since I was a kid.
4. How many stockings do you hang and are any of them for pets? And...Where do you hang them? (Not everyone has a fireplace)
6 stockings, and yes my dogs get a stocking, they are my kids! ;p We don't hang them, I fill them and place them in front of the presents, because the kids get those first while I am getting awake and getting coffee made.
5. Tell us about one of your Christmas traditions. My family all get together on Christmas Eve. No matter what. That is my Mom's birthday. So we have a cake for her, in non Christmas theme. Then after everyone goes home we exchange gifts with my parents. It is really nice to be together that night. I tell my boss, I will work Christmas day But I have to have Christmas Eve off! lol This year is going to be alot of fun though because we have 2 new babies and my nephew will be here. He is already bouncing off the walls!

Parade Part II

I had to stop in the middle of the parade entry earlier because sons GF started talking to me and I didn't want to be rude and ignore her.
Soooooo anyhow, no the parade was not fun, other then seeing Rain, which is always a joy. This will be her last Christmas parade here and she has 1 more tomorrow morning. I am happy in some ways, sad in others.
I think I was most disappointed that there were no church floats in the parade. Usually most if the churches in town will do a religious float for Christmas. There was none. I was shocked. Also there is usually a can food drive where they collect can goods for the needy, that one wasn't there either. Poor Dad, carried a bag of can goods to the parade and held them and then carried them back home.
I felt so bad for my nephew lil Darth though. The fireman were throwing out tons of candy and he can't eat it because of his braces on his mouth. He has to have surgery eventually because he was born with cleft lip and palate and the braces are opening the roof of his mouth up. Poor lil guy just stood there and looked at the candy laying at his feet. Me being the dumb ass, was like look honey there's some candy, duh. He looked at me and said Aunt Val, I can't eat candy. I felt horrible!
Sunday night CT has sleep study! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! I get an evening of peace & quiet! I am giving orders that I need some me time! So the kids will have to find some entertainment in their rooms. I actually need to work on Rains dress, which I will do, but I work better when people aren't trying to suck all the life out of me.

Parades dwindling

I have to honestly say that our towns parades... suck. I mean really just awfully bad suck. Even the kids are like oh man this parade sucks. Our parade tonight consisted of.. about 20 fire trucks, not even decroated, except 1, 2 middle school bands, the high school band, 1 PIA truck school float with a junky helicopter on the back(not decorated), the special olympics group, 2 dance groups and about 20 lil princesses and queens freezing thier tiaras off. Oh yeah and Santa, who used to be the pervert Mayor, but I think he moved away, because he was a pervert, so I don't know who it was, at the end. It get smore disappointing every year.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hoping you all had a nice Thanksgiving! I worked till 3, which was cool because I get triple time. God knows I need the extra money for bills & Christmas, So I had to volunteer. But we had a really nice time. I surprised my oldest daughter when her best friend since birth came up to see her tonight. She was soooo surprised! Just seeing the look on her face was priceless. They haven't seen each other for 3 yrs, so they were very happy to see each other. I was hoping to get them together earlier in the week but work schedules just didn't work out for that. But at least they got to see each other. Baby girl(my oldest daughter) smiled more tonight then I have seen her smile in a very long time! We played Lord of the Rings Monopoly. I outed about after an hour, I caouldn't keep my eyes open. Lil Darth(my nephew) kept rubbing my arm saying wake upppp! I just couldn't! lol So our bellies are full of great food, we got to visit with each other, there was alot of laughter and fun. I am thankful for all of that!

Hello People!

Hi friends! Just a note to let you know that I fixed it so even if you are not a subscriber to this blog site you can leave a comment. I welcome you all and am tickeld to see ya! I hope no trolls are lurking about to leave a mean comment, that makes me sad.

Ahh another day in paradise.

We are on day 3 of the bathroom remodeling. I think a root canal would have been more appealing. At least with that I could have come home, curled up on the couch with a fluffy comforter, taken some good drugs, and tommorow I'd be all better. The bathroom.... well I can still curl up on the couch and take a drug induced trip into dreamland, then wake up and the night mare is still here. Everyroom is a mess. Even the basement where the wood that was torn from the floor fell. I mean this literallly! AT this very moment, while I sit here sipping my coffee, trying to relax, they are beating on the wall right beside me, already knocking my precious painting I recieved from a old friend who passed away just weeks after giving it to me as a wedding gift. My monitor is shaking about. Dare I bitch about it!? Gawd no! They are moving! That is what it is all about! Tonight, CT & Son argued for 45 minutes about what to do about exchanging a piece of plywood and getting some other things we needed. In that 45 min, they could have had the plywood exchanged and been back home. But you can't do a project without argueing can you? Not if you're 2 men who know everything!

Taking for granted!

You ever not realize how important something is in your life until you don't have it, or can't use it? How about a bathroom? Dam, I never realized how much time I spend in there! All my stuff to get ready for work is in there! Well, we are remodeling our bathroom. It is our present from our parents! Woo hoo! But, after discussing the fact that the commode would not be taken out until the last minute, and in the day time, I come home from picking out paint, and what do I find! The wonderful CT has taken my precious throne out! NO NO NO! Put it back! My Gawd man! What are you thinking! Sure, you fellas can waltz out into the yard for a 2 am pee, but us chickies! I'm not squatting in no yard for nuthin, particulary when it is like 35 degrees! He doesn't remember our conversation! He doesn't recall me telling him that I am up every 2 hours to pee! Where was his head! Or as Dr Phil says... "What were you thinking man!" Geesh! So he had to find new bolts to put it back, and it is there, in place! Lucky for his butt! lol Well and mine too! lol But we have to use Mom & Dads shower for a couple of days, but in the long run it will be worth it.
Christmas is approaching quick. My stomach is churning, worry about how I am going to get gifts bought. But I am coming to the conclusion that my kids are very understanding. Rain has asked for Garth Brooks box set and Son wants a Cabelas gift card. CTs kids want gift cards from 2 differant stores. I am going to do the best I can. I have decided that as far as his kids go, they get a very huge Christmas from thier mother and her side of the family, my kids get gifts from my Mom & Dad and they are always appreciative of even the smallest things. SO I am not going to worry. I think as long as I am here with them and spend time with them and have a nice together they will be very happy.
I know I brag about my kids, but I am so very lucky to have such great kids. Sons GF is a awesome lil girl! I love her to pieces! She spent the weekend with us. Son went camping with his friend he's had since preschool, which just happens to be his GF"s cousin, how weird is that! lol So GF stayed with us. Her & Rain have become so close! They went shopping , brought home snacks and played Monoploy and had a really nice weekend. Rain helped her with her homework, which I thought was kind of cute because GF is in college and Rain is in High school, but it was for GF's COmputer class and Rain is a wiz at computers.
CT was an ass for alot of the weekend, but I told him what was what, and he made apologies all around. Which I am trying to make him understand that once the damage is done, the apologies ae nice, but maybe he should keep his attitude in check, because words can hurt or the way the words are said, just as much as physical hurt. He makes me so frustrated sometimes, I understand he feels awful and is frustrated with his physical ills, but we don't really feel like being helpful to him when he is being an ass. I keep reminding him that he is having his surgery soon and that he will be pretty much immobile without our help, he better start being nice!

The move.

Isn't it funny how things happen, I got a disk today on the mail for Earthlink, offering internet for 9.99 a month for 6 months! Cool! But I gotta check it all out. I would be saving almost 20 bucks a month and right now, 20 bucks is alot of moolah in this old gals wallet! (dew break) Now I have the tedious chore of moving and saving all my stuff, and man do I have alot of stuff~~ I need the "Fly Lady " in my computer! lol
I am thinking this might be a really fun time here! lol I think I am calling aol tommorow !!! lol

I hate change, but this could be ok, I think.

Well, here I am, and I didn't come kicking and screaming. I am noticing alot of cool stuff AOL didn't have. I am totally upset about my journals and am trying to save them until I can get some disc to burn them onto. I hope I can anyways. All the pics of Rain and mostly my brothers Journal. That was completely upsetting after spending time there with my my thoughts and to click on it and see freakin ads! WTF! Is there nothing AOL won't do to drive their customers away. So I dunno, I am thinking of changing to a cheaper internet service. I have been thinking bout it, but decided against it because of the journals. Now I have nothing to hold me there. My BIL has used earthlink for years and completely happy with it. He's a computer tech guy and he says it has all you need. So we shall see. So hello people here in blogger land!
